A couple questions if anyone is interested in fielding them...

I'm only counting 17 checks, not 18, and on the attachment, I think I only counted 16, didn't compare, assumed they were identical, I probably just miscounted.

The mental health checks, I agree this should be done, glad to see it on the list, but wasn't there some issue with it, like they didn't check the right database, or couldn't check without permission, or some agencies didn't report? I just recall there was a special issue regarding this check, would appreciate a refresher.

Lastly, back to national reciprocity and the 10A issue; I agree we don't want to infringe on states rights, but how are drivers licenses handled, couldn't we treat ccw permits the same way? Would seem that some reasonable 'good standard' could be found, that matches what most states already accept, and open that up and encourage other states to accept that one national standard? Sure a few states might not sign-up, but I'd rather folks have a permit that's good in nearly every state than to have to carry a stack of state issued cards with varying rules, fees, expiration dates, etc.

    Yes?

Part of a regulated firearm purchase or a W&C permit app includes signing a release to check mental Health records. NO release, no firearm or carry permit

DL are handled by the DL Compact, not federal law.

Yeah, except many states requirements mandate more than just a NICS check.

    Our beloved state for instance.
    .

List of databases checked for a handgun purchase. Have to assume they check the same ones for a W&C permit.

But that could be done in a matter of days if they wished
