What do you put on a peep site to get rid of sun glare? I've seen that you can run a lighter over it to get some soot on it but is this really a good idea?

I've only seen the lighter on the front sight, or spray with sight black.

Flat black touch up paint, maybe?

    Great suggestions.
In a pinch, a plain old butane lighter will work too. Not the sootiest, but it'll do it.
Candles and matches can leave a waxy film on your sights so I only tried them a couple of times.
Someone stole my carbide blackener while I was changing targets at a reduced target match. What really sucks about it is they were all people I knew from my old club in St Charles! Beware: Acquaintances aren't the same as friends.
