I have a spare wood stock for a spike bayonet SKS so I figured I’d roll the dice.

I recently bought a grade 1 all matching from AIM. Metal is pretty good, no rust but does have some honest wear. The wood is pretty beat up though, no trench art. But stock finish is pretty rough. I have to wonder how much worse the grade 2 is. Really wish I kept the Norinco SKS I bought back in 2006 for $90 though (first gun I ever bought). Anyways whoever AIM got these from sure caked them in cosmoline very well (think I read they were in Albania for the last 25 years). Took about 4 hours to get it cleaned up, hopefully I'll b able to put some rounds through her tomorrow morning.

Here's a pic of mine.

There’s a video, cracks are pretty bad. Some even had chunks of wood missing.
