I heard that your shop deals a lot of Sig Sauers. If, not then please ignore the following or perhaps direct me to someone else.

I am thinking about purchasing a used P226 in .357 or .40 cal. Then swap out the barrel for a 9mm one, since I like the 9mm.

I like the option of switching the barrels to a different caliber and if I were to purchase it as a 9mm I lose the option.

Would this cause any other issues?

I understand that the .357 and .40 use the same magazine. Also I read that the 9 and .357 use the same sights.

Would sights need to change if I go from .40 to 9mm? Or this more dependent on the specific handgun?

Do you get many used P226s?

I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Not affiliated with the shop but I own a 226 and a 229 and I did the same exact thing with my 229 that you want to do.

So .40 S&W and .357sig both can share the same magazine and it is just a barrel swap, you can use the same slide I believe. If you want to go to 9mm that will require the conversion kit which is a barrel, slide, guide rod spring, and different mags.
