    Anyone know when TCSC 3gun is going to start back up? I was looking forward to shooting some of those matches this year.

    ditto for 2 gun, idpa, etc there!

    it sounds like fred county's startup rules are precluding matches there, or at least the tcsc bod is reading it that way. hopefully stuff will start back up in july.

    in the meantime, peacemaker is doing 2 & 3 gun (2g match this weekend) and shadowhawk is doing 2 gun. roughly an hour west sw of frederick.

    Alas, I can't do the PNTC and SH matches... just have too many familial obligations on Sundays to blow 3 hours driving there and back on top of the match durations.

    ETA: I really also just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing the matches in PS somehow.

    I cant speak for TCSC's 3 gun, 2 gun or IDPA programs, but USPSA announced their first match would be in July, I believe.

    Most of the shooters who have family obligations I shoot with get one day off during the weekend for their sport and then the other day is for family. Of course in some the entire family shoots matches. One reason I like PNTC and SH is they have different squads and/or days during the weekend so I can pick and choose. I routinely drive 2 hours into PA each way for particular sanctioned events. I just throw in the outlaw matches for something to do.

    Hello all , I'm new to the forum. I'm looking to get into some of these competitions. Could someone take the time and explain some of those abbreviations to me please. Thank you for your time in advance.

    USPSA = action pistol shooting
    IDPA = action pistol shooting
    PRS = precision rifle shooting
    3gun = action shooting with a pistol, rifle, and shotgun.
    2gun = action shooting with a pistol and rifle
    SH = Shadow Hawk Defense (WV)
    PNTC = Peacemaker National Training Center (WV)
    TCSC = Thurmont Conservation and Sportsman Club (Thurmont, MD)

    There are many others, but you'll figure them out. If you have specific questions, start a new topic and ask.

    Dang dude. You forget to include the closest (to him), newb friendly Action Shooting program acronym

    COACH - if you want to get into action shooting, then check us out. We are new to this Action Shooting thing too
