The U.S. International Muzzle-Loading Team is holding a fundraising raffle. First prize will be a Pedersoli Richmond rifle-musket, second prize a double-barreled percussion pistol. Chances are $5 each, or five for $20. Drawing will be 8 October.
We need the money for a simple reason...powder and match entry fees are terribly expensive. Gunpowder at the World Championships was $40/lb, nearly twice the cost in the USA. Caps were $12/100. And the average entry fees were around $300 per competitor. Every shooter representing the USA in Hungary paid his own airfare, his own lodging, his own ground transport...and got a bill besides.
