Hi all, was looking over my M1 carbine, trying to see how many org parts were on it. Seams not too many. Has rockola trigger W marked hammer stock not marked QH op slide, some green sling looks old... Sag Gear hand guard. Just a old war horse mix master. Is in the 202xxx range and has an Underwood ,9-43 so I guess that's oeg. Question is how "strong" was the rifling on theses I can see some but am guessing its a bit worn. Havent had it out yet should I replace the recoil spring before I take it out? Thinking its best to leave as is and not do the " make org" again, is part of its history. Any place to find more info on these IDF carbines and how may were brought back? It is a Standard Products . Thanks !

Century Arms International import stamp *usually small under the barrel) or CIA?

Israel used a lot of M1s yes. Regardless sounds like a good gun and Standard Products is one of the rarer manufacturers. I am not sure what mark that IDF used for their carbines.

I wouldn't worry about mix master parts, to my knowledge an underwood barrel is correct for a standard (used contractor pool) receiver. Everything else is probably mixmaster but almost all M1s are and were from the factory. If you search there are some great threads on M1s, markings, parts combos. Some I have contributed to in length.

Cool thanks, from what I could find, it was from a lot CAI got, it has the serial # on the stock like others had.. Thanks again. The only thing is the bore looks a bit weak but it is a few years old.

A bunch of those came in from Israel about 5 years or so ago. I remember SOG had them too.

I've seen pictures of Israeli schoolteachers carrying them on school outings. I also heard they put a bunch of them in Choate folding stocks (a good solid folder by the way).

Going from memory M1s have pretty weak rifling in general. The only solution is to muzzle gauge it either using a .30-06 bullet if it swallows it to the neck its well worn or a proper .30 caliber muzzle gauge which can be had off eBay for about $22.
