But being law enforcement, doesn’t that bypass the hql? Or does just make you able to not have to do the training?

Yes.. totally different..
Have to create an account if you haven't on that site specifically. I don't have my carry permit in hand but am approved. Submitted for HQL this morning and got an email about 5PM it was approved. I attached a copy of the approved carry permit application, not sure if that helped or hurt.

I definitely broke the record for HQL wait time…applied 7/14 an been pending since 8/4 applied for an expungement which got denied cause of ineligible charges (unit rule) …had hearing today an it was GRANTED!! Now let’s see how long it takes now I’ve been waiting since 7/14

Thanx man it was your threads that inspired me!!
Mine took 7 days. I applied after receiving my W&C permit.
So I caved... Finally put in for my HQL Dec. 23. (Thought I was going to be moving out of state anytime, 10 years later and I am still here..)
Side note/question for you all - I thought MSP had UP TO 30 days to give/deny an HQL? Am I wrong there?
I see some posting that it took over 30 days, how is that possible?

Massive influx of carry permit applications.
So…. An HQL can infact take longer than 30 days???
If so, than what was the point of the 30 day thing, just a guideline?
