I came across an article begging the President to activate the Citizen Militia to guard the southern border. The article makes a good case, IMO.

BUT...

The real gold in the article (IMO) is a video discussing the PRINCIPLES BEHIND a Citizen Militia. It's long, but it's quite enlightening. He even calls out Maryland as a "deep slave holding state." Here it is:

I think each and every member of Congress and our General Assembly should be MADE to watch this.

I dropped some of the above info on a Mom demanding attention yesterday. She seemed taken aback to find out that the militias were composed of ordinary citizens, armed out of their own pockets, organised at state level, with federal control only under extremely limited circumstances.

Needless to say, she failed to actually assimilate any information, but kept insisting that we (PP) were using rhetoric* to sidetrack and derail her arguments.

*rhetoric:
The art or study of using language effectively and persuasively.
Skill in using language effectively and persuasively.

So, yes I guess we did.
