I'm a bit confused, what does this mean really?
There is a Minute Entry which makes it look like a decision was made in open court to pursue the action at the State level. The order does not include the transcript of the court session (I don't see a transcript in PACER).

She is a good speaker, full repeal is the only way to go, no placate in my book either.

It will make more sense to call it FSA2013 ie Firearms Safety Act of 2013 which is the laws name, since the GA passed it

The assembly in NY is so anti gun biased it will never be repelled. A court ruling is the only hope.

And the NYDN whines some more:

Low assault-weapon registration stats suggest low compliance with Gov. Cuomo’s landmark SAFE Act gun control law
    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/pol...s-registry-numbers-released-article-1.2267730
Only 45,000 assault-style weapons have been registered in New York state since a landmark gun control act went into in effect in 2013, a new analysis of gun statistics shows, suggesting that Empire State gun-owners are largely ignoring one of the signature elements of the watershed legislation.

In the years since Gov. Cuomo signed the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act, otherwise known as the NY SAFE Act, a total of 23,847 people have applied to register their assault-style weapons with state police, according to data obtained by the Albany Times Union.

Shocker...civil disobedience occurs when people don't like the laws and their voices are ignored.

We've seen non-compliance in CT, CO, NY where this stuff was passed after Newtown. There has been open, and concealed (pun intended), flaunting of the laws.

Yet, the courts have been reluctant to overturn...shocker.

Like my upstate NY brother says, "Guns? What guns?"

The nice part is, no one's asking anyway.

Nope. Especially now with convicts on the loose. Sure they may be in Canada, VT, PA or even elsewhere but if you're legally capable of CCW, cops (at least in the north country) are pretty lax unless you're doing something completely dumb.

And here's just one unintended consequence of the Act:

Fugitive killers may be heavily armed
    http://nypost.com/2015/06/24/fugitive-killers-may-be-heavily-armed/
“Just about every cabin or outbuilding in the North Country has one or more shotguns or weapons,” State Police Major Chuck Guess said Wednesday...

Area hunters “put an inordinate amount of weapons, ammunition and other tools in these shared, seasonal hunting camps and cabins,” Guess told an afternoon news conference in Cadyville.

“You would think that they’d have some sort of inventory, but our investigation has led us to conclude that, in fact, a number of people cycle through these camps and cabins, and they do not have a definite number of weapons, so they cannot tell us what is missing and what is not.”

If they had properly kept these two registered, counted, and inventoried escaped prisoners under lock and key, they wouldn't have to be worried about innocent, privately owned guns that are just minding their own business and residing safely in their proper places.
