I love how it always seems to escape the Brady clan's attention that gun sales have to be done through a dealer, with at minimum a call to NICS.:sad20:

alot of this as we know is intentional deception. It goes far beyond common misconception and gun control advocates know that there are laws which force the commonality of firearms transactions. These people intentionally down play the laws to deceive the ignorant into thinking that we need stricter gun laws when in all reality both they and informed gun owners know what they really want is further burden on firearms owners. The is no honor in their statements. It is not a mistake that they aim to deceive. It is purposeful and intentional and any successful attempt to hold others, other than the perpetrator of heinous acts accountable means more fear from liability to any 2a friendly public forums.

it is a terrible thing but even Maryland shooters could find itself in a legal mess should something happen that was somehow inferred or directed back to communication held here. It is no small liability for website owners and the services they offer to the community to become part of something they couldn't possibly have foreseen.

Not in all states. I've legally bought a firearm advertized legally on armslust ... er... 'list, as a legal face to face transaction. Simple swap of green paper for blue metal. No silly busy body noses from the government sniffing about required or desired :D

    VA is the same way.

FTF-legal no NICS. A seller is supposed to check the buyer's state of residence but that's about it.

    Long live freedom.

Even in NJ we can do private sales without NICS.

Long guns just need your FID card and each party keeps a copy of a certificate of eligibility form. It's just for your records, not submitted to the state police.

Handguns need a paper permit to purchase per gun, which does trigger a background check but it is not NICS. Every gun sold is registered, but they say the registration is "voluntary" even though the form is automatically sent in when you send in the permit copy to NJSP...
