I know that Walther made a few of the P38-K pistols between '74-'81 with a shortened barrel and front sight integrated on the slide. Kinda cool looking but not sure on accuracy.

I see Gunbroker has something similar listed, except that it is on a P1 slide dated 3/77.

Lots of over-strikes on the slide and receiver.

Thoughts on this? Factory original using a P1 slide or a bubba-ifcation abomination?

I'm not sure what that is, but it's not a Walther factory creation.
There were some early prototypes based on the P.38 but ALL legit P.38K had a P4 slide.
The front sight is a standard #4 sight welded into the slide bridge (you can see the slot they cut in the bridge) which was never done.
The slide date of 1977 was well into the P38K production so having a P1 slide makes no sense whatsoever.
It's nicely done but not the real deal.
