There are many CZ fans in the rimfire rifle world that might also take the plunge. Walther has an appealing option in this market space (the Walther PPQ 22, not the Walther P22 - similar naming has led people to believe they are the same product - and the P22 has an inconsistent review record), but frequently the best deals come with 12-rd mags (even though they sell with a 10-rd mag option) so I keep deferring waiting for similar sales with the 10-rd mags because I don't want to lose the mags in a purchase. Lol, will probably eventually come on CDNN, which won't even sell 5-rd revolvers to MD residents.

As per the slide change option, would be great if CZ did this for the Shadow, much like Sig also provides as a purchase option for their centerfire semi-automatic pistols. One could argue, why, because you can get 9mm at 17-18 cpr these days, but 22LR is still a quarter of the cost to shoot as decent ammo can be found in the 4-5 cpr range. So if one shoots a lot, the math might favor the 22LR option as long as the hardware change isn't crazy expensive.
I'm sure I'm not the only CZ fanboy who wishes they would expand manufacturing beyond Uhersky Brod and build specific firearms for their biggest markets. I also think CZ would do well to build a modestly-priced .22 target pistol to fill the gap in their product lineup but, it's like they're not exactly sure what they want to do yet: become a global player or maintain strict quality control in their main facility and accept the fact that they'll never fully meet consumer demand. God forbid they end up being another Sig Sauer, whoring-out their good name/reputation to make a quick-buck on shit that should never have left the factory in the first place.

Easy do. No worries. I’m happy. You’re happy.

Now let’s shoot!

Range Report

Naturally, I was curious to see if there was any discernable difference between the Urban Gray Shadow 2 and the Black/Blue Shadow 2 and my conclusion: they're ain't.

10 yards, 50 rounds, Fiocchi 115gr FMJ

10 yards, 25 rounds, CCI Blazer Brass 124gr FMJ

Not much difference at all at 10 yards with either brands of ammo. What about 25 yards? The furthest distance I've shot the Shadow 2 up to today was 15 yards.

25 yards, 30 rounds, Geco 124gr FMJ

Yeah, so at 25 yards I really had no idea of sight picture/alignment and just went for it before figuring-out that six o'clock was the best hold on the last magazine. Considering that Geco really isn't the Shadow 2's favorite factory load, I thought it did OK. I'm eager to see what it can do with some S&B 124gr FMJ.

Nice shooting at 25 yards, and sharp looking pistol.

Yes. Yes I was. I had no idea where to sight at 25 yards and since it's so dark in there, I wasn't getting any help from the FO front sight. Just went for it. I was surprised/happy to land 19 out of 30 in the red.
