google is your friend, I am not.
Looks like they will be treated as muzzle loaders with an arrow of at least 18 inches, which is a balanced decision.

Sort of. Looks like you cannot use them during muzzle loader season. More analogous to shotguns IMO- same seasons, same game (deer, bear, turkey).

Also, electronic aiming devices. Not sure what it said before but it's less restrictive than just lasers.

Air guns have always been listed, and must achieve 1200 fps.

Air guns is a new addition to the regs. But the 1200 foot pounds regs has been there for decades.

I think the terms firearms and weapons are being mixed up here in some of these post.

To those of us who shoot air guns, "fps" is feet per second, not foot pounds.

I would expect foot pounds to be "ft lbs"

Your exactly right, just not to air gun lingo but all firearms.

I mixed these units up once ( fps & ft lbs) and thought I could use my 22 with stingers to hunt deer. But I was 11 years old.

1000 internets for the first person who designs one that can fire semi-automatically from a detachable magazine. :lol2:

It's not the 1950s any more...who the hell still says, "new-fangled"??

I do... but I'm 55 raised in a much older household. My kids are always telling me I talk like an 80 year old.

That just means I'm wiser than my years.... at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

    After checking with DNR

the plan is for the regs to take effect in time for the 2016 firearm deer season (i.e. before Nov 26).

Keep an eye on the Maryland Register for the Final notice of the AirGun/AirBow regulations
