Just got my PPQ 45 back after a Tungsten Cerakote job by Legion Rifles. What do ya think?
Inspiration for my Pistol...
Very Nice, would you mind PM me the $$$.
Also were did you get that trigger from...
Thanks
Is that just Tungsten, or tungsten mixed with graphite black to darken it a little? Very nice, I like it! (looking for some options for a couple handguns)
Yea, I was looking at titanium, but didn't want that bright of a color on a handgun, so I'm pretty sure it'll be tungsten, hope to have it finished later this week. I like the looks of yours!I believe it's just tungsten, I had my AR-10 6.5cm done in titanium but after doing my PPQ I wish I did it in tungsten as well.
A lot of Glock shooters have disproven that generality. You do have to be careful to watch for leading, but properly done, cast loads in a poly-rifled barrel are perfectly safe. One thing I was surprised to learn is that the PPQ 45's barrel has polygonal rifling and as I understand it, that means lead bullets are to be avoided - jacketed only. That's a slight downside but not a deal-breaker, though. I barely have time to shoot these days, let alone, cast my own bullets and reload but, if I ever did, the PPQ 45 would be a bit more expensive because of that design feature. It wouldn't stop me from buying one.

I think that looks great. With the trigger upgrade, it really makes it 'your' gun and sets it apart from all the other PPQ 45's out there. Very cool.
I just got a 5" PPQ but I'm already considering the PPQ 45 for pin matches and anything where the extra-oomph of .45 ACP is preferable to 9mm. I'd be interested in knowing your impressions since you posted pics.
How does yours shoot?

I'm also eager to see where Walther takes the PPQ 45. If we're lucky, maybe they'll come out with a long-slide/match variation of it in the near future.
I love my PPQ45 it is hands down my favorite pistol. It shoots great. I own a 5" PPQ as well with Dawson sights and Apex trigger.
Those are both nice upgrades. Hope you don't mind if I set mine up similarly? I don't think PPQ's need a lot of modifications to shoot well but the Apex trigger and better sights only make a very good pistol into an outstanding one.
Blue Ti, huh?
