Damnit - I am so mad at myself for letting this go, but my VA NR Permit expires next month and I just got around to submitting my renewal package on August 15.

    Counting down.

I submitted mine back in April, got the receipt for payment 4/23, still waiting for the permit.

I let mine lapse , seeing here the delays and boondoggle VA has been doing with their permit system . What is the waiting time now ?

They are quoting 3 months :mad54:

Yikes Norton ...They have gone downhill for sure

Thankfully, I don't think I'll need the permit during the coming waiting period. With WV being constitutional carry, and not planning on a need to carry in VA any time soon, I think I'll be OK.

One more data point, I was told my new-issue VA NR would take 3 months, just got it last week, 37 days.

That's what I like to hear! I totally own the responsibility for submitting it at the last minute, but sure would like to not have to wait 3 months.

I renewed my Va Non Res a cpl times , but after they raised the renewals to $100 , I sat down and compared my coverage from my others, and found that by that point Va added nothing additional .

UT and NH ( at the time, and again currently ) .

I had initially gotten Va , because at the time, it was the only Nin Res accepted by WV . But that was the dawn of the era of widespread Reciprocity .

I get it. My strategy, perhaps flawed, is that I carry almost exclusively in either Virginia or West Virginia and that in the event of a LE interaction, it may be the difference between a 2 minute interaction and a 2 hour interaction while they figure out if another state is reciprocal.

Again, perhaps flawed, but it works for me.

I renewed my VA NR permit back in 2018. Submitted on May 9, received payment acknowledgement letter on May 18, and received the permit about 4 months later on September 14. Again, this was 2018. Hopefully they've cleared the backlog. Good Luck on timing

    What does NH add?
BTW I'm looking on usacarry so might be flawed!!!!

Glad to see I'm not the only one suckered by PA AG.

My NH permit arrived the day after PA rescinded its validity for non-res CC.
