After doing tons of research, I chose a p229 as my first firearm, and I love it. It's a very solid feeling firearm with weight to it. It's build quality is top notch, and has only convinced me to buy more Sig built firearms.

I see this thread is several months old, did you end up getting one?

I have had mine setup with the Hogue wrap around grips and now with the Crimson Trace laser grips on it...love it both ways. I also shoot it with the the .22 conversion barrel and slide conversion and .357 Sig barrel. Great with each setup and very accurate. I'll never sell it! I added the P-226 9 m.m. with SCT grip and magazine conversion since I loved the P-229 so much!:party29: They are 2 of my favorite guns that I own! Eventialy I want to add a P-226 X-5 in 9m.m., that will be my next!! I own several Sig's 2 p-229's you cant go wrong with a Sig. I buy most of my guns at Engage Armament they stock about 20-25 differnt Sigs at all time ask for Tom or Ted also i have found that they price match most local shops.
