Gun shows these days require two things. A short list and fat wallet. I thought it was a nice show. If anything was disappointing it was the hot dogs.

I thought it was a nice show - it's the first time I've been to that one. It's a slightly shorter drive than going down to Chantilly for the Nation's Gun Show, and not nearly as crowded, although this was the first gun show I've been to since the Covid lockdowns started. I'll definitely make the trip up there for that one again.

I did see something on my short list of items I'd like to acquire - an older Marlin 39A. Unfortunately this one wasn't as old as I would have liked it to have been, the furniture was pretty banged up, and it was, IMO, way overpriced. I realize the 39A is the Cadillac of 22 rifles, but it was cruising near $900 - for that kind of money, I can get something else arguably nicer.

I have multiple Marlin 39's, and even as much as I love them all, unless it was ancient, in real good shape with the long octagon barrel, $900 is an unreal price.

It was $900 cause he did not really want to sell it unless it got an "unreal price"
I have found out that some of these guys put things like that down cause they want to fill a table and are really just trying to sell half the guns they have.
The other things is never be afraid to offer less than the sticker price. The worse they can do is say no.

Was this with the guy to the far left corner in the big room?

The Marlin 39A? It was in the big room, but going through the door it was sitting at a table a couple of rows to the left not far from the aisle that runs right off of the door in the big room.
