Went over to TMGN after work and was able to put another 75 rounds thru the Shadow 2 before leaving in disgust after about 30 minutes. Not with the Shadow 2, though. I thought it did OK, considering the two yahoos in the lane next to me rapid-firing AR-10's and 12 Gauge shotguns at targets 5 yards away (WTF) and yucking-it-up the whole time about how they were trolling everyone on the range. I really just need to stay the fvck away from that place. Too many nimrods are allowed to do stupid shit with little/no supervision for my comfort level. Yikes.

I've never had that issue at TMGN. Which RO was there? Some have seemed to be a bit more lazy about keeping people in line.

Wow, not cool. Not the place that I would want to introduce new shooters at if they permit people on the range to actively antagonize other customers. Did you complain to anyone? Hope they refunded your money.

I'm not sure who it was. I went out front and complained and was told, "Well, that's what you should expect on a gun range..." Yeah, I guess so, especially one that allows any ding dong with a thick enough wallet to come off the street and intentionally annoy the living hell outta everyone around them.

Didn't ask and they didn't offer. No problem, though.

I am with you, I am letting my membership there expire, until then only going members only time 9am-12pm Sundays. Last time I went a guy two bays down hit the ceiling twice at 10 yards. RSO watched him, and just shook his head when we made eye contact.

I briefly considered joining when they first opened but, wasn't real impressed with either lighting or ventilation. Ventilation has improved slightly but, I still can barely see my sights in there.

Besides lax enforcement of range rules and people being allowed to handle guns who clearly don't know WTF they're doing, I don't why every gun I bring has to be fondled by counter staff. Seems a little intrusive. I never have my guns checked, like that, anywhere else.

I'll admit I've had more than a casual interest in the Bren 2 but, after watching this video, I'm not so sure I'm 100% sold on the long-term durability of a polymer lower receiver.

Was not aware of that but, then, I've only held an 805 for a few minutes at a gun shop and didn't notice that the lower receiver consisted of two separate polymer units. I just assumed the 805 had a metallic lower of some sort because of the weight. It's definitely not a lightweight. If anything, I thought it felt front-heavy.

It probably wouldn't stop me from buying a Bren 2 but, for somebody raised on steel/wood battle rifles, its low weight and diminutive size would be a little off-putting at first. We were trained to use an M-14 as a big ass club when we ran out of ammo. You probably see where I'm going, right? At least the 805 has got some heft at 8+ lbs.

My wife and I were on vacation a couple weeks ago and I rented a Bren (@ Sharpshooters in Roswell, GA - they have several autos for rent). Good lord that thing is fun with the happy switch on.

I understand. I'm a old time to. And yes the 805 does have some weight to it. I have a pistol version and love it. It's a sweet shooter for sure. I can't help but love a good piece of wood ( there are some beautiful AKs out there , and that newer battlearms with the forend and collapsible stock). But I have been bitten by the newer offerings lately!

Classic "operator" syndrome. The first thing the morons do after getting it is strap crap all over it and start planning how to chop it up and ruin it. How about learning the basic firearm and then decide what it needs if anything? "Naw man! I gotta gets me some more operator tats and run the gun!! I gotta mod it out like a real man does bro!! It's fu@&ing AWESOME!!" Get a life.

Anywho, I've had more than one Bren since they first came out and they're typical CZ Quality. I'll be picking up the new model when/if they show up as semi's. I've never been disappointed with a CZ product.

Most of the gun reviews on YouTube are pretty awful and this one was no exception. It's only redeeming qualities were being able to see the Bren 2 up close and on full-auto but, yeah, probably the closest he ever came to seeing any real action was playing COD on his PC. It makes me wonder what it takes to get on the product-tester list for CZ-USA because if that ding dong can get a Bren 2 to test-fire, so should I.

I've held off on getting a Bren 805. There are things about it I like and things about it I don't like, particularly the fact that it's 5.56. If I'm going to spend $1700, why not save-up a little more and get either a Galil or a SCAR in 7.62 x 51? That's my logic. I'd get a G3/H&K 91 if I could but, the Bren 2 at just a little over 6 lbs. unloaded would also be very desirable and wouldn't take much effort to lug around. It might actually be able to get me past my 5.56 prejudice once and for all.
