    balttigger: Sexxxay!

balttigger: You're also right, it is considered regulated I did my research. Like you said because it's a "copy" of an AR-15.

Aquaman: Wish I had known about the York show (cash and carry).

JWLaRule: My understanding is any magazine over 10rds is illegal (at least when it comes to the purchase in state or shipping into MD). Check around. Many people have discussed the fact that you can purchase a magazine larger than 10 rds, but you can't purchase one in MD, and no one can legally ship one into MD. You could drive to VA and grab one then bring it back to MD and use it however.

I won't pretend to understand the reasoning behind such B.S. but it is what it is.

Your understanding is wrong. It's 20 rounds in MD, unless it's a tube magazine for a .22lr rifle.

I stand corrected, for whatever reason I can't find a solid answer on it. Either way, the M&P standard clip is 25 rounds 5 rounds shy of the 20 rd limit. So for whatever reason the complaint version from Smith & Wesson is a 10rd clip probably because 10rds makes it complaint in a few states including MD.

You can purchase a magazine that is capable of holding more than 20 rounds but it has to be physically clocked from holding more than 20. I picked up a 25 rounder for the M&P at a MD gun show that had a piece of wood in the bottom that blocked the carrier from going down far enough and only allowed 19 rounds to be inserted. Removed the floor plate, removed the wood block, reinstalled floor plate and Voila....25 round magazine!

Congratulations, doing that was effectively manufacturing a magazine that held more than 20 rounds inside MD, effectively breaking the law!

So either clarify that you did this manufacturing outside the state, or delete your post and forget you ever made it.

Who is my FFL? If you're talking to me I used BartsSports in Glen Burnie, MD www.bartssports.com $60 for regulated transfer. They have an M&P now but they're charging $600+. I paid $395 for mine.

Balttigger: Someone at a gun shop (not the aforementioned gun shop) told me they were able to do the same thing (the wood/block thing). But later when I called them to pull the trigger on that deal and order me the 25rd while they block it with wood or whatever they sort of played dumb. Like "umm no we can't do that". I think I scared them or something. Damn it! This is such ********. I just posted in the VA forums, maybe someone will be kind enough to let me have (2) 25rd mags sent to them, then I'll just pick up the damn thing. MD is so fckng annoying!!!

MauiWowie: Show off! Very nice. I'm waiting for MSP to do their thing so I can go light up Elk Neck.

Sad thing is I'm already thinking about an AR-15 Bushmaster and a PX4 Storm subcompact. I need an intervention.

Yeah Barts Sports were very nice guys to deal with, I'll be using them from now on for all my FFL transfers. Last time I dealt with a pawn shop in Elkridge (twice) and the guy always seems to have an attitude.

Now I did think their prices were a little high for the guns they were selling. Especially the $600+ M&P which was used and only appeared to have upgraded sights from what I could see.

When I got mine this year from Freestate, it had a blocked mag, max 10 rounds to be MD legal.

    no.....banned.

These are legal. Just can't buy magazine with > 10 capacity. It is not a copy of an AR15. You cannot put an AR upper on it, the takedown holes do not line up.

The ban was also for centerfire and this is rimfire.

You can also build an AR with a .22 upper. It is a legal configuration.
