If you're a first-timer, there is good info here:

Volunteers get free admission to the show. (And there's nothing to prevent a little shopping before or after your shift.) Another thing worth mentioning, some vendors, upon seeing you have a vendor badge, will give a few $$ off a purchase. Not all vendors will do this, but it could be an added bonus for volunteers.

I'm afraid all I can do is bump this thread.:o

A while ago Biggfoot44 shamed me into...err...I mean, convinced me ;) that I should work a booth some time. I was kinda eyeballing this show, since it's only an hour away. But...we've got a major project going on at work, and I could be called in at any time over the weekend. I don't want to make a commitment I know I may not be able to keep. :( Honestly, I may not even be able to make the show at all, and I won't know that...till I know. :sad20:

If I do make it, I'll hang out with the folks and get some more almost-on-the-job training.

Thanks for fighting the good fight. I'll get there when I can.

It's not a thing of shame everyone . Volunteering for the MSI booth at an Event is enjoyable, rewarding , and helps to spread MSI's message, and garner support for our cause . Win/Win all around .

Did we mention free admission to the events ?

All this, and you get to meet some great people.

And a Hat Tip to MinuteMan . Even though he had his own booth at the show,he stepped up to fill in when needed for a break .

I keed, I keed. The shame is definitely self imposed. :o I feel bad that there are always these calls for help. I wish I could do more, but...well, my life is so scattered that it is really hard to make and keep such a committment.:sad20:
