    I've tried to do a search and still don't have any answer's. my brother want's a Rock river arm's varmint upper for his AR, but my question is can you shoot 5.56 MM ammo out of a .223 wylde chamber ? I know the .223 remington chamber is a no-go.

    According to the 2007 Rock River catalogue I have in the magazine rack beside the crapper as I type this the .223 Wylde chamber "will accomodate both .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO ammunition."

    :The .223 Wylde chamber was designed as a match chambering for semi-automatic rifles. It will accomodate both .223 Rem and 5.56mm NATO ammunition. It is relieved in the case body to aid in extraction and features a shorter throat for improved accuracy:
