My son, my cousin and I have a awesome place to goose hunt, but They only come to this location in the evenings the last few weeks of the season, for the past 2 years.
Last week, we only got 3. These birds have been hunted hard, and won’t commit.
This evening, we set our decoys a little different, and left them more space in front of us, hoping they would come in. We didn’t hear or see a bird, we were thinking we were going to get skunked. Then with about 10 minutes left of legal shooting time, a flock of birds, could be heard in the distance. I began calling, and the birds came right in, as we hoped. The decoy set up was perfect! The flock had about 40-50 birds in it. We ended up getting 5.
Had a great time, and We are both looking forward to next Saturday evening.
