    FYI guys - focus your PIA requests. List specific documents and records. The agency can charge you reasonable search fees for their time to gather the information along with copy fees. This can get quite expensive. They are not obligated to answer questions or create records in response to your request.

    All of the items I listed are things any private business would reasonably have to keep for customers. I don't think the state should be held to any lesser standard than that, so that is what I am requesting.

    If someone is going to submit a PIA request, how about adding:

    Copies of any letter, memorandum, or email, from the governor, lt. governor, or any member of their staff, which directs or provides the approval for the maryland state police to use staff from other agencies, as mentioned in the news release from the maryland state police, dated 9/7/2013.

    Copies of any letter, memorandum, or email, from the superintendent of the state police, or any member of his command staff, which directs or provides the approval for the maryland state police to use staff from other agencies, as mentioned in the news release from the maryland state police, dated 9/7/2013.
