What I intended is to keep dangerous items out of the hands of people who have proven that they intend to be dangerous. Hence, potentially dangerous.
Understood, and it logically makes sense. But, how do we predict what someone will do and restrict their constitutional rights using that knowledge? In short, my belief is the constitution prevents government from doing exactly that.
It scares me when we marginalize one constitutional limit on government to protect another constitutional limit, or even to protect me.
