As I’ve been learning more about reloading I’ve always read that premium brass is worth the money.

Midway has a sale on Lapua 6.5 Creedmoor Brass with Small Primer Pockets. I picked up a box and decided to check them out.

Before loading anything I decided to measure 10 cases and record the measurements.

    Case Length 1.911±0.0015
    Shoulder Length1.532±0.0015
    Neck ID0.2595±0.0005
    Neck OD0.2950±0.0002
    Head ID0.461±0.0005
    Neck Concentricity>0.001
    Case Weight164.5gr ± 0.2gr

I took my time preparing 15 test rounds and tested them out with Federal Match Primers and 140gr Nosler RDF’s. 5 shot group .38 MOA and 10 Shot Group .62 MOA. Out of the 15 shots I had 9 readings with the Chrono resulting in 9.2 SD.

Apparently guys on Snipers Hide are reporting that they are reloading Lapua brass 15-20 times.

Lapua brass is the best, I ordered a chit ton (1k) but haven't had time to load them up yet.

It usually only buy lapua to reload. I've got 10 firings on my target gun, zero split necks.

This^^^^ Have both 308 versions, 338LM awesome brass last and lasts, up to 10 firings so far in my bolt guns. It's just down right damn good brass, costly yes , worth it yes. You buy it once and cry once.

I'm running the Lapua Brass in my 6.5 X 47L (Like I've got much of a choice). The stuff is awesome. At this point, I've got 14 reload cycles on my first group of 25 cases and they are running strong. Excellent stuff!!
