I didn't read the article but I'm guessing it don't apply to cops. Cops may need more rounds in case they are shooting at a bad guy. We can probably get the job done with five.

Yup. That would be some overreach good for a court challenge. Might as well be low key on this only submitting necessary testimony for the legislative record to stage for the challenge. I'm not aware of any pistols that come with an unmodified five round magazine.

The Springfield XDS 45 stock magazine holds 5 rounds. I used to own one. Maybe that's where they got the idea from.

The limit in Canada for rifles is five rounds. Maybe that's where it comes from. Who knows. Maybe the mafia is uncomfortable with citizens having six rounds to defend themselves from thugs. They run the damn state anyway.

I grew up in the people’s republic of New Jersey. They were one of the first states to pass an assault weapons ban in the 80’s. You could turn in your evil weapon to the police or sell it out of state. This BS bill will pass just the same as it would here. Too many libs.

This cannot pass the "common use test" that people refer to in Heller. Banning most revolvers. Just crazy.

Yup, and Winchester Model 94 lever actions in 30-30. Even the carbine length ones have a 6-round capacity. One of the most popular selling firearms in US history. Winchester 1873 rifles (another huge seller) held even more rounds in typical calibers.

Of course it will become a de facto ban on most semi auto pistols since they don't make 5-round magazines for them.

    But they know that.

You can probably pin and weld one cylinder of 6-shot revolvers to keep them NJ legal.
