I bought a box of knives off a guy for $50 bucks. It contained this knife (unused), a buck bowie hunting knife (used), an Alaska Knife company kitchen knife (unused) and an odd assortment of other knives and such.

Anyone know anything about edgemark or this kind of knife. Any idea of it's worth.

The blade is in mint condition, zero scratches or marks. Handle and sheath are like new as well...

What kind of info are you looking for? The steel is going to be very good, high quality knife steel - that's an earned reputation from Solingen in Germany. Given the steel in the knife, it's probably worth somewhere around $100 - maybe more if it's in great condition and it's considered a collectible.

A ricasso would be the flat part of the blade just above the handle/guard. I'm basically curious about what's engraved above Solingen.

Above Solingen it says: EDGE MARK

The blade is as smooth as glass. It's almost too nice to use.

A quick google search that hit knifeforums states that Edge Mark was a line/brand of (relatively) low cost knives by Gutmann Cutlery. eBay prices tend to top out around $50.

No idea about your particular specimen's specifics. Carved stag handles aren't exactly common. Doing a search for the company turns up little, so I don't even know if they're still around.
