I bought a scope for my sons Savage mark ii and picked up a pair of weaver#16 bases at bps. Well they line up with the factory tapped holes in the receiver just fine, but when I start to screw the base down there is resistance. I don't want to cross thread them so I backed off. All screws in the pack do the same. Are these standard threads or different on each model?
