I like the 60 rounder. I would rather use a drum for 100 rounds...

Surefire just broke cover on their high capacity magazine project this weekend. They plan to show the magazines at SHOT Show, 2011. Their entry into the magazine market comes in two flavors, 60 and 100 rounds. The MAG5-100, $179, above, looks a bit unwieldy but the MAG5-60, $129, below, looks a lot less intimidating.

From the title I thought this was something like you kept pulling the trigger and pulling the trigger and nothing happens until you pull out the magazine and then all the rounds spray out of it at once hitting any unsuspecting bystanders.

ONLY $129 for a 60 round mag! Last I checked 2 30 round Pmags runs about $30-40... Neat concept, I'd try one out at about 1/3rd of that price.

Interesting... but I don't see the point.
    Am I alone in that?

You have lost at least 50 interwebs due to that post.

    Zombies, 2012, Chupacabra uprising.

The signs are all there. Stock up on ammo and as many mags as you can.

What will you do when in 2012 zombies and chupacabras combine their forces to feast on our brains?

Will you meet them with a MD approve 20 rounder or a SureFire mag of death?

Is there any advantage to this versus the drum style magazine? Do either have any feeding problems?

Drum mags stick out to the side pretty far, whereas these are within the sides of the carbine. If these were reliable, they'd make a great 3-Gun magazine without having to worry about breaking a plastic drum like the current AR drum mags.
