I bull pupped a Mossberg once...looks cool, but yeah...that linkage for the trigger is ghastly...but for the purpose of pure protection it's fine...unless they really put in the work...ball bearings, rollers, something really nice or innovative...it may be underwhelming...we will see

I wonder how long before we see reviews on them. It'll be interesting to see if the action is the same and what the quality of the stock is.

BigTinBoat for the win!!!! Picked up my repaired Avenger today and had a great time picking his brain. Amazing guy with a ton of knowledge.on the internal working of most air guns. Very impressive and quite willing to share. Thank you again Sir. Much appreciated. He also let me shoot some slugs through it. A bit more wallop is always a good thing.

I'm glad things worked out for you. I use AVS slugs in mine and find them more accurate than H&N.
    We were shooting Nielsen Specialty...

Looking for high pressure 1/8 inch street elbow to make a connection to fill the avenger without taking the moderator off...found some online for a few bucks...10k psi rating...but $17 to ship...anyone no of local places that would have them, capable of at least the 4k psi I pump to?

We have a place Colliflower Hydraulics where they custom make hoses and they sell fittings, and cheap.

This place is in Waldorf, they them - Southern Maryland Hydraulics, Inc.

I checked with southern Maryland hydraulics...the guy came out and looked at my rifle. Said they didn't work fittings of that size...but thanked me for coming by. I will just keep removing the end. I did that today, hand pumped it back to 3k, shot it some more...zero change of my POI. Easy enough, and I save 70$. For you guys that have already been tinkering and adjusting...I have the regulator set at 1800/2000, the hammer spring isn't maxed out or maxed in...it is throwing 18.13 grain JSB at 900 fps give or take 12 fps...watching the pressure, it is using about 500psi per 10 shots...I have some 17 grain slugs coming in....it seems wasteful to me...I should be able to lower the reg pressure and increase the hammer spring to get the same power, but using less air?...

There are some good videos on adjusting PCP airguns on the net. They may not be for the Avenger, but the process is the same. I don't have my notes handy and I can't recall the process I used or I would provide it.

Thank you. I know how to make the adjustments...I was wondering it it is worth it...can I get similar power, with a lower regulator setting, but more hammer spring...after looking at the numbers from quite a few tunings documented...it seems my regulator is way higher than theirs, but they were still showing 875 fps....at 1400-1500 psi....I will dump it and start over...now that BTB fixed it, I can play around with it...

It all depends on whether you want lots of power and not too many shots or lots of shots at lower power. If you are going to hunt with it, figure out how much FPE you need and then adjust to get there. If you are looking for shot count, then start at lower speeds, with a .22 I would use 700 FPS and see what speed gives you the best groups.

It's probably good where it is at...I'm getting around 32fpe. I could back it down, but I don't want it to go much below 30. I have slugs ordered and I will see how they print at longer distances with the current settings. Obviously, the correct answer is to buy another air gun in .177 that hits hard but is quieter.

If you put one of these on it, you will only hear the hammer slapping the valve. They are lightweight and affordable. I have both the Tanto and Sumo, the Sumo on my .25 Avenger.

Thanks you. Most of my sound is coming form hitting the targets. I have moderators. Mostly printed. They negate the crack and the echo. It is just the slapping of the swingers. Easy enough to rectify. I'm shooting into a bottle (thanks to your recommendation) of sand with my chrony. I will just change the target to a larger version for the backyard and save the kinetic targets for when I go to the field. I ran through 20 shots with the magazines the other day while my neighbor was mowing, on one of the squirrel targets with the resettable center. As fast as I could cock it...just bang bang bang alternating. What a blast. Once it was quiet, I switched back to the crosman 1377...just the clack of the pump. I can ring the spinners with it all day, as it barely makes a noise. But...going from PCP to pumper is such a difference. If I just shoot the pumper, it's great...but once I start on the PCP, switching back is a downer.

Yea, that is one of the downsides to shooting. More power = more fun.

Got some shots in today. You guys already know this...but now I know it too, from seeing it...colder temps equal a little lower point of impact...still one hole at 20 yards...just a tad lower...I chrony'd the NSA 17 grain slugs...880fps. The backstop makes all the difference in sound. As long as I lay off the steel spinner and squirrel, I can shoot it without disturbing anyone. I downloaded a new sound meter app...72db with the moderator. Well shoot...now I have to think of another compelling reason to purchase a .177 PCP...I can't say it is the sound anymore.
