Apparently shipping to dealers soon. Looks pretty funny to me, but perhaps this is the easiest route to an MP5 SBR in Maryland, after having the barrel cut down.

It looks fugly, reminds me of HK94, no need to SBR it as its already 16+ barrel, just add A2/A3 stock to it and make it 922r compliant. On the other hand it's a good host for MP5SD project.

That is some ugly gunz there. A 16” 9mm? I don’t get it.
Also don’t believe it will be available in any quantity. All of the SP__ stuff has been so impossible forever.

HKs are over rated and over priced.
CZ makes better guns than HK.

looks like a grown up Luger I love the look of the classic MP5, I would have paid extra with a faux suppressor shroud that is easily detachable.

That to me is a slap in the face for HK people...
Get a MP5 kit and build one... pick some LSC flats.

lol. Times never change. Back in the late '80s and early 90's I heard some of the same things I'm seeing in this thread. Back then, I just grinned as I happily shelled out $500-600 for HK 91's and 93's. Later, I was grinning as I was stacking away the MKE and POF offerings and I'm grinning now as I continue to buy while others kick the tires and complain about this or that. Boss94, you've got the right idea pal.

Absolutely a good move by HK. Ridiculous to criticize aesthetics; HK is trying to put more roller-delayed guns into people's hands that otherwise can't get an SP5, for one reason or another.

I hope every SP5L buyer buys a B&T barrel or a demil front end and has a big party when they can get their dream gun in correct configuration.

More is better. Kudos to HK for catering to an underserved part of the market. They could have said "tough sh*t," but they didn't.

By the way - "HK is overrated" = coping mechanism

I like the idea but the thing seriously dont look right with them proportions.

I’d like one with the forend and gas system extended about half of the exposed barrel length its got now, with the pullout stock like the one Combloc’s got
