Looking for some bamboo poles. Does anyone in St. Mary's or charles' counties have some growing in their yard, who would let me come take a few? I need about 4 six foot poles.

If that doesn't work. Place a WTB ad on Craigslist. Anyone who has bamboo growing on their property will be more than willing to give away as much as you want to take.

    Good Luck!

bamboo is a pestilence that needs flame throwers and round-up.

In my last neighborhood, we had one family that planted bamboo along one side of their property, kinda like a hedge row. Well after a few years, the roots to that bamboo grew so far that it starting pushing on the foundation to the neighbor's house. All the way on the other side of the property, the other neighbor had bamboo shoots coming up in their yard. There were even a few shoots that broke through the asphalt in the road. Neighbors from all side were taking them to court to get restitution for their issues. The neighbor with the foundation issues, actually paid a contractor to come in and dig a 3ft wide trench from the road all the way to the back of their property and then they poured concrete. So we're talking a trench 3 feet wide, almost 4 feet deep and 120 feet long. I do believe they won their lawsuit and the bamboo owner had to pay for the work.

Crazy thing, they have never cut down/burned the bamboo and it continues to be a problem for the neighbors and the road in front of their house.

    Bamboo is bad.
