Another USS California 1903 just sold for $25k on Auction Arms, S/N 1011683
One of the pics shows the docs in the earlier post here and you can see the OP's S/N
I thought it would do $10k or so but man it took off !!
3 bidders there at the end going over $20k.

So your rifle was made in 1918 and it is after the improved heat treating but before the introduction of nickel steel.

I was thinking "who uses Auction Arms anymore?". Then I see it's JTD, the only seller of note on AA, IMHO. If anyone could pull off a presentation that would wrangle this kinda bidding it's Mark. I'm sure the seller was pleased, that kinda coin can do lots of good for a family in these hard times.
