SLCFSA Steel shoots?

Doesn't SLCFSA normally run steel matches during warmer months? I just checked out their web site and don't see any on their calendar.

I wouldn't mind attending a couple of those shoots. I heard they were good shoots.

Somebody from SLCFSA must have read this message. The event called PA Steel is now on the calendar for every 4th Saturday starting in April and going through October. Cool!

The big regional sized PA Steel shoot is in June (typically). I have been wanting to do that.

If you find out more about it and want to go, let me know and I might be interested in going with you.

They may have had to wait to coordinate with other clubs, as it is a PA shoot.

I did one a couple of years ago. Good fun.

5 stages, 5 runs on each stage, 5 targets each stage, so 125 rounds, if all hits.

You can run Centerfire Pistol, Rimfire Pistol, and Rimfire Rifle.

You can draw from holster and start low ready (gun pointed down 45 degrees.

IIRC, top 4 runs on each stage get used, worst one is dropped.

That is the typical Steel Challenge format. One of the clubs would have stages with 30+ plates in sime stages.

Warp, I’ll scout that info, sounds like a road trip or two is on the horizon. Some here on the board frequent those matches.
