Morning all; Received a gift from my grandfather yesterday. His 58 year old Mossberg 151M-C anyone familiar with that family of rifles? I broke it down as far as I felt comfortable last night in an effort to clean it, but did not want to dive into removing the action from the barrel without insight. Any takers?

    Great rifles.
I had a 152, which is very similar, but mine was magazine fed (vs. tube fed like yours) with a fold down forend.
    These are very nice rifles.
Usually a great finish, with nice Walnut stocks.
If you unscrew the knurled nut at the rear of the action, the internals will come out (bolt etc.).
Just be careful if you do, as the spring is strong and will throw the bolt out the rear at you, if you're not careful.
All Pawn in White Plains (So. Md) has a 151 on the rack for sale.
    Mine was really accurate too.

Thanks for the info, going to try that this evening and hopefully get her cleaned up better. My grandfather had a failure to fire and got pissed that the squirrel lived another day eating from his garden and put the rifle back in his closet, which is where it sat the last 50 years or so
