A recent double-murder in Oxon Hill caught my attention -
A rideshare passenger gunned down an Uber driver and another passenger in Oxon Hill, Maryland, Tuesday night and told police he was high on PCP at the time of the shooting, authorities say.
Where are the protesters? Where are the sign-wavers? Why haven't the Attention Demanding Moms mobilized a red-shirted crew to Annapolis to advocate for additional restrictions on PCP and mandatory background checks for shared-ride services ???

The news reported that the perp/suspect had a criminal record and a history of violence. A simple background check would have flagged this, and given either the driver or the other passenger the opportunity to decline the shared-ride - lives would have been saved!

And all Uber can say is "We are devastated [and] we will continue to work with law enforcement on their investigation into this heinous crime.” What a bunch of crap. Uber already has an in-house driver and customer rating system, and they could easily extend this to include a 3-day waiting period for shared-rides such that angry people (or people who are pharmaceutically-involved) can "cool off" before getting into an Uber with others.

    It's just common sense.

Absolutely! The Uber cars so need a "No Drugs" sign

the simple but painful answer is no one gives a sh!t how people die or how many people die unless guns are involved. then it's just 'ban the guns.'

doesn't matter if you're a coked-out crackhead, felon or multiple felon, illegal immigrant or whatever, somehow it's just 'ban all the guns.'

The counter argument is that we would have more PCP related crime if it was legal and that the banning of it holds down the violent high-on-PCP attacks.

PCP is one of the exceptions to my usual observations on the subject . PCP actually is an inherent danger to the larger public simply in itself , regardless of its marketing and distribution .

Given the devastation wreaked by people driving cars into crowded streets, I feel we should seriously look at banning privately owned and operated vehicles. After all, options of public transportation are numerous. Nobody NEEDS a car. Its for the children !!!
