A friend of mine worked at the hospital Saturday night. At breakfast on Sunday I heard the report about the that nights work, the Carnies, the Rubes, the alcohol and heroin overdoses, the stabbings and the incidents that spilled into the downtown after the crowds were kicked off the fairgrounds.

I wouldn't go to the fair after dark if you paid me, and I sure as hell wouldn't touch any Carnie prepared food.
On another note, most all of Frederick had 10-30 minute average police response times because all the Deputies and the SAT/Pace teams were at the fair to deal with the gang violence that everyone knew was inevitable.

    Why not?

More than 80 percent of the food vendors at last year’s Great Frederick Fair used unsafe food practices, according to inspections by the Frederick County Health Department

Sounds about right. Not only is there a crowd to sort out with being directly involved, this day in age there are crowds of foamers who pull out their smart phones, pictures, videos, "tweets" and just aimlessly gawk at what isn't really their business.
