Does anyone know anything about Kimber barrels? This is not on a Kimber rifle.

I really can't find a lot of info on the interwebs.

Are they any good or not?

Apparently, way back when, Kimber of Oregon did some sporterizing of M98's. I have a BRNO Mauser action with a 24", "in the white" Kimber fluted barrel. It has a cheap black plastic stock with Kimber imprinted on it. It is in 7mm Rem mag. I only shot 12 rounds through it but it seems like a hammer. I slapped a cheap scope on it and it was pretty accurate right off the bat.

So, I think that I answered my question from the OP.

It is rumored that Shillen made some of their barrels back in the early days. It has to be older because Kimber of Oregon hasn't been a company since the mid 90's. It was bought out a couple of times since then. Now they are in Yonkers, NY. I think Dan Cooper of Cooper firearms used to work for Kimber of Oregon before he went to Montana.
