    Mossberg is smart doing this.

In MD its going to be a no go for sales unless its exempted from the handgun roster. If the gun is sold with a barrel shorter than 16" its a handgun.
So glad I opened this thread. Got one heading my way
Curse you and your freedom filled life in Virginia. :D

Hope it doesn't take too long for you to get it from back-order.

Hopefully this group buy will come through and we can all buy barrel-less 'firearms.

Not that I remember. I ordered a bunch. They aren't available yet. Might have to cancel if I can't sell them here.

Check out what another IP did, who made these themselves to sell. They sold them without barrels but they came with a coupon to buy a barrel for a dolla dolla bill.

Yes, but I believe the receivers must have been delivered to the IP without barrels. Then the IP made (cut down) the barrel's and as you said sold as a separate item. Then the purchaser assembled at home. This might work if Mossberg would never assemble the barrels onto the receivers and deliver to the FFL as a separate item. I believe the BATFE says once assembled the firearm is born and categorized. Not an expert but just thinking out loud:innocent0
