Anyone have experience with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating for BCG's, particularly this from Sharps Rifle Company?

I know Nib is a no go and Nitride is questionable, so I'm looking for the next best thing... I guess.

I know Nib is a no go and Nitride is questionable, so I'm looking for the next best thing... I guess. I also know you can't go wrong with phosphate and carpenter 158, but I've been having issues with my suppressed AR308. The adjustable gas block doesn't seem to help.

I'll venture to guess that if it's a phosphate BCG, it's not the coating. You may want to gauge that current BCG and make sure it's good.

All gauges check out, including head space. I know the coating won't be the only cause and I suspect a combination of over-gassed and possibly the ejector. Just wondering if DLC and some other improvements are worthwhile investments...?

Consensus on this forum is other coatings are not an improvement.

At least you've ruled out the BCG. I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to suppressors.

Any coating is questionable if the bolt carrier wasn't milled to accept it. You're looking at a Toolcraft BCG(in the case of the Arm or Ally product). Their claim is that all their BCGs are milled with consideration to a given treatment. They come with a lifetime warranty.
Please Note: Some dealers utilize a third party coating service to keep their costs down. If purchasing a Toolcraft bolt carrier group from one of these dealers, Toolcraft will void the coating warranty. All Toolcraft Bolt Carrier Groups sold by Arm or Ally include the manufacturers 100% no-questions-asked warranty.
I know nothing about the DLC as far a longevity.

DLC is not bad, BUT the bore specs before and after coating is VERY important.

SRC Products are not something I would put in my own weapon though. The tapered bolt heads will peen the chamber mouth and the S7 Steel tends to not be as durable as they claim.

Qorban88, you having trouble with one of the AR's I helped you with?

Sorry for the delay. You have advised on these guns before and I've brought it up in another thread: https://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?p=5582994#post5582994

Dialing down the adjustable gas block more and swapping ejector springs with AR15 springs was suggested but i haven't troubleshot that yet. I'm just anticipating having to replace the entire BCG and wondering what would be a worthwhile upgrade. Very curious about DLC and possibly dual ejectors... https://www.armorally.com/shop/toolcraft-ar10-308-double-ejector-bcg/?v=7516fd43adaa
