Picked up this Damascus blade a little while ago. I can’t figure out the maker. It is marked SL. Any help identifying the maker would be appreciated.

Have had these for years, the Para is my daily and is just the perfect all around little knife for me. Light, sharp and easy to operate.

Sometimes, you pick up a knife, and can tell right away it's perfect. Have been trying to get a Kershaw Livewire since they came out, finally got my pre-order from Kershawguy, and it was worth the wait. This has the best, smoothest, most friendly and light action of pretty much any OTF I've handled, only the $500+ Heretic Manticore E series comes close with a heavier/but much shorter switch travel. It is a light spring with long travel, fires and retracts nice, essentially Microtech's sear lock design, but with a pair of springs on the carriage slider, very minimal play on par with the best from Microtech/Heretic. It has a nice useable drop point blade shape, fine tip in line with the center of the handle, but thick enough to be tough, nice high grind with a good looking swedge, in 20CV steel with a nice stonewashed finish.

The Handle is fantastic, reversible deep carry clip, no glass breaker hanging off of it, nice effective jimping, comfortable and attractive milled texturing everywhere, and a nice machined switch with a grippy step pattern. ONLY knock I have against it is the basic steel pocket clip, although it's kinda plain and stiff, it is small enough to stay out of the way, and angled just right, hopefully a Ti replacement from someone comes out soon. T6 screws, nice and skinny aluminum chassis under 1/2" thick, and perfect EDC size 4.75" handle, 3.3" blade, 8.1 OAL and 3oz weight, made in the USA. For $210 shipped this blows My Microtech Ultratech out of the water, there is absolutely no competition for anything less than twice the price. I really hope they expand the line, hopefully with their ZT division getting into the OTF market.

Bark River Bravo 2 with Wenge wood scales-blue liner
    CPM 3V steel

Powder metals have really gained traction in recent years, and thanks to continuing research and development, CPM-3V and CPM-MagnaCut in particular have truly earned the title of “super steel”.

Just now bought this on ebay. 3V blade at reasonable price hard to find today

I was pretty good with a Balisong when I was in my 20s, but that has been some time ago. I might need a little practice.

My buddy and I just came back from a 2 day knife course with Mark J. Hopper. Started with a 2" piece of 5160 steel, and ended up with this.

Mark J. Hopper won the Forged in Fire, Season 5, Episode 6, Master/Apprentice Show. Really nice guy. Got to meet Jessica, his apprentice, as well.

We went through every step like on the show except the torture test. It ain't easy, my arm was killing me from the manual hammering. Mark guided us and helped with the fine tuning and sharpening on my blade.

If you ever get to Georgia, he's just outside Atlanta. The man knows his stuff, and is willing to give the knowledge.

Will definitely be going back, and will definitely cherish the knife.

Just recently acquired my first Benchmade; a full size Super Freek. I added a LynchNW deep carry clip to finish it off. It’s very light despite it’s beefy size. I’ve always been hesitant to pull the trigger on Benchmade over my US Kershaws just due to the prices but so far I’m impressed. I might need a Mini Adamas eventually.

Never owned a switchblade until I was 74. Then I made the mistake of reading a bunch of posts her, and the concept began to ferment. (The damn things are like Really Expensive Potato Chips).

After I got deeper into it, there was a post about the "Chain Drive" Rat Worx knives; I'm a sucker for oddball mechanical ideas, and I fell hard.
