Survivability Systems in Curtis Bay is looking for a welder. Pay is around $22 an hour. They prefer 6 years of welding experience. M-F job with plenty of overtime if you want it.

Apply in person or contact me for details.

Please excuse me for a minute while I hi-jack your thread.

And please understand I'm not taking a shot at your thread.

This is precisely why a $15.00 minimum wage is complete and utter crap.

A welder with 6 years of experience is getting $22.00.

While a person who just starts out and may never understand which part of the sesame seed bun goes on top of the burger gets $15.00.

If a person getting $7.50 now gets $15.00 for knowing nothing, then a person getting $22.00 should be getting $33.00 for having mad welding skills.

The MSM has NEVER discussed this angle of the $15.00 minimum wage and how it relates to other wages for folks with years and years of experience.

    And it should be discussed.

    Sorry.

Welding is one of those occupations which should have a salary based on knowledge and skill. 6 years experience doesn't mean anything if it's all BS welding. However, a welder with good machine shop or pipe welding skills will be hard to come by for that pay. That said, good looking out on posting the job.

What?! No! What does a dollar amount have to do with the value of work!?
