A High Power Rifle Match will be held this Saturday, May 27th, at Sanner's Lake in Lexington Park, MD. This will be a standard NRA National Match Course consisting of 50 rounds (plus sighters) using reduced targets at 100 yards. Firearms must be classified as service or match rifle in accordance with the attached rules. Iron sights only. Course of fire is as follows:
1. Sighting Shots: 5 minutes for up to 5 sighting shots at the beginning of each relay, loading one cartridge at a time; SR-1 target.
2. Slow Fire, Standing: 10 rounds in 10 minutes, loading one cartridge at a time; SR-1 target.
3. Rapid Fire, Sitting or Kneeling: 10 rounds in 60 seconds reloading once; SR-1 target.
4. Rapid Fire, Prone: 10 rounds in 70 seconds reloading once; SR-21 target
5. Slow Fire, Prone: 20 rounds in 20 minutes, loading one cartridge at a time; MR-31 target.
Registration starts at 0800 and the match starts at 0900.
This is an NRA-approved match so bring your membership number if you want your score to count towards classification. We usually run two relays, so if you are new to high power shooting you are welcome to watch the first relay before shooting on the second. There will be plenty of experienced shooters around to provide coaching tips and/or equipment loans if you need them.
