And in my safe, . . . :innocent0 Where my mid-90's, lightly fired, never carried, like new, upgraded with SRT and night sights, factory serviced, model lies with several 15 round Mec-Gar mags to keep it company :)

Shame really. That thing should be carried, shot and worn from use.

I bought one about 1.5 years ago off gunbroker. I got lucky because seller took fuzzy pictures and I guess bidders didn't want to take a chance. It was in great shape and I paid around $550 for it. Just keep an eye open and have patience. image.jpg

Maybe one day in Merrylandistan . . . :innocent0 It does see service at the range, or an an occasional steel challenge or IDPA match, but having gotten into striker fired pistols it is now more of a safe queen I have no desire to part with.

Gunbroker and the occasional consignment or pawn shop.

    Good luck.

Only buy the Sig 228 "Made in W. Germany". It says so right on the slide. Really, they are the best and made with old world German craftsmanship.

I am still holding on to some old M11 mags for the time when I find a good one.

Why does everyone want folded sheet metal? Sheet metal is usually considered less desirable.
See what the Germans did with the Hk series of rifles and SMGs. The MG 42 might be the best piece of folded sheet metal in the world.

Those were designed to be cheaper and quicker to make which is an advantage to a country at war but doesn't make it a higher quality weapon.

I'll take a milled FAL over a stamped G3 any day.

No, there are differences, the main being the German ones the slide is made of folded sheet metal and the m11a1 is a milled slide.

I think the M11A1 uses the newer 15rd P229-1 mags and may not be compatible with with the German p228 due to frame width. The original M11 is a P228 though.
