I did a couple searches and could only find one post that generally alluded to a prior hearing date.

Anyhow, from the Washington Times today, the Supreme Court will decide on the 21st, whether they'll hear this case.

A family from Texas moves to Anacosita (SE DC) and wants to bring a previously acquired Glock with them. Apparently, Charles Sykes had lost his lease and it took the family a year or so to legally bring the handgun into DC.

Gura says that if the plaintiff (Amanda Welling) prevails, it could eliminate the FFL middleman for the transfer of handguns, provided that they're legal to own in the state.

The question that I have is this:

Doesn't Federal law require all handgun PURCHASES go through an FFL? I am not seeing in this story how DC requires someone coming into the District with a currently owned firearm to go through an FFL. I'm obviously missing something here.

No, only interstate sales (includes newly manufactured guns).

In the free America, you can sale a used handgun face to face as long as both parties are residents of the same state.
