I'm looking at picking up a Polish P-64 Mak. I live in DC and only firearms on "the list" can be legally registered. DC has its own list, but also allows guns on MD and CA lists.

My problem is that I can't find the P-64 anywhere on the list(s). They are listed by mfg and I don't know what to look for (no listing for "Polish" or "Makarov"). Anyone know how the P-64 is listed in MD (or is it exempt because of C&R). Thanks.

Just to make clear, I'm in DC. So I don't think the "pre-85" and "C&R" work. However, DC honors the lists of MD and CA, so I'm hoping someone can point to it there. I'll re-read the DC rule and look for exceptions, but I don't think there are any.

Edit: Just re-read the rules and it looks like any C&R is OK in DC. "The District law provides for a few exceptions to this list, including firearms defined as curios and relics (27 C.F.R. § 478.11) and certain pistols designed specifically for use in an Olympic event."

Then you are good. It is both. Here is the link to the 2009 ATF update when it was added to the C&R list.
