VA citizens can already carry, this bill would allow FF/EMTs to carry while on duty.

    Reading is comprehension. :D

So a double entendre of sorts, in VA citizens can carry and this bill would allow them to carry. Got it. :)

Rejoining a currently separated group rather. My bad , my MDS break must need to be more stringent!

The LTs, CPTNs and other firehouse management in New Orleans are armed. Just too many drunks , druggies and crazies in that city assaulting fire and EMS responding to help them. Administering narcan can really piss off a junkie.

There's a catch - You must have been "previously employed as a law-enforcement officer or as a member of the Virginia National Guard, Armed Forces of the United States, or Armed Forces Reserves..."

I suspect most fire and rescue organizations in VA will restrict their employees from doing so.

In MD we already have armed EMTs and paramedics. They come with a green/black helicopter.

By law, they're already allowed to carry, but work can restrict them, this bill would circumvent that.

As for the troopers... well if you're lucky you're in an area near a hanger and they'll get to you in... 20-25 minutes lol

Still requires agency approval. I doubt many chiefs will be eager to deal with that ball of wax.

Usually we get 'Trooper 2 in 16 minutes' and we have to hustle to set up a landing site.
