About 2 out of every 25 times my Hornady bullet feed die won’t feed the next bullet. Sometimes it will go long stretches with 100% reliability and then act up for a while. Usually a quick nudge either down or up into the die gets them feeding again. Everything looks good. The collets appear undamaged. Been happening for a while and have run out of tricks. Loading Xtreme Plated 9mm.

    Any suggestions?

All 3 of mine do the same thing. Doesn't matter bayous, Berry's, Xtreme, whatever. I've just gotten used to it, but it is annoying.

I had lots of troubles with mine as well. I ended up taking it completely apart, cleaning it very well and then giving a good coating of graphite for lubrication.

I went back-and-forth numerous times dialing in the precise adjustment, narrowing in on the sweet spot where things seem to work well. Then I used electrical tape to secure the adjustments so nothing moved. It has run flawlessly since then.

I recently began using an RCBS feeder for .40 cal, and it has worked pretty well. It has some pluses and minuses compared to the Hornaday. Not sure which one I prefer just yet except the RCBS is less expensive.
