anyone have kentucky coffee tree?

Hi all, was wondering if anyone local had or knew where there might be a kentucky coffee tree I could get some seeds from, Maryland is at the edge of their range and they are not very common this far east. I was looking to plant a few in our woods as a replacement for the ash stands we've lost to the emerald ash borer. also wouldn't mind starting some shagbark hickories as our property seems to only have bitternut hickory.

I don't have one now but there was a magnificent one where I grew up in Virginia. For those who don't know the tree:

I have grown them from seed. Remember the seeds must be scarified in order to germinate.

The easiest way for me was to cut through the seed coat with a three corner file. I filed a notch through the edge of the seed until the body of the seed, a different color, just was visible.

Keep your eyes open and when you spot tree gather a few pods in the fall.

You can also buy seeds:

This one has scarification instructions:

Even Amazon has them:

Where's "local" to you? There was a Kentucky coffee tree in the subdivision I used to live in. It was on Lisa Drive, near Lisa Way, in the Pinefield subdivision, Waldorf. It was a number of years ago and may be gone by now. The National Champion Kentucky Coffee tree is located on the C&O Canal Park grounds in Hagerstown, MD. A call to them is likely to provide a favorable result.
